Barryroe Co-op is a farmer owned multi-purpose agribusiness. Its range of business includes purchasing milk, grain and pigs from its farmer shareholders, manufacturing animal feedstuffs, supplying farm inputs, building materials and hardware, as well as grocery retailing.
Barryroe Co-Op purchases 110 million litres of milk annually from the area’s 200 suppliers. This is delivered to Carbery Milk Products which is owned by Barryroe and its fellow west Cork co-op’s, Bandon, Drinagh and Lisavaird and acts as a central processing facility for all four.
Barryroe Co-Op is a major purchaser of grain in the area. It operates a thriving mill, manufacturing forty thousand tons annually, meeting demand from both its dairy and pig customer base.
Staunton Foods is the major pig purchaser and pork processor in County Cork. It supplies pork to the multiples and the wholesale butcher trade throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe.
